Liberia News: Shirley Kolmer’s Lone Female Candidate Unveils Manifesto

…Vows Quality Leadership, Inclusiveness

Liberia-A lone female candidate contesting the Shirley Kolmer Catholic High School Student Council Government Elections has vowed to ensure that her fellow students pursue sound and quality education if she emerges as winner of the upcoming election.

Ms. Ella Success Sayon, who unveiled her manifesto on November 27, 2024 at the launch of her campaign on the school campus promises academic excellence, inclusive leadership, reawaken and strengthening student groupings, reconciliation and unity among students through sports, among others.

In a statement issued ahead of the launch of her campaign on the topic, “Why I Decide To Contest the Presidency of SherleyKolma Catholic High School, Ms.Sayon her quest to contest the male-dominated election of the school is to remind those who understate the strength of females that women and girls are the best managers in the largest society.

“As a female student, I have decided to contest this position because you all know that women and girls are the best managers in the society. Women have proven over the years that they can make the difference in the area of leadership based on our records. Women and girls manage everything and that is why being one of the “A” students at this institution and based on my track records since I entered the Catholic School System, I’ve proven beyond all reasonable doubts that I’m qualified to lead you as your president,” she added.

Ms.Sayon noted, “I’ve come to tell you that I’m the best candidate in this race because of my previous track records. I’ve demonstrated to you my fellow colleagues, that leadership comes through one’s far sightedness. A leader is someone who is willing and can push your goals to the administration without fear or favour. I’m a young lady with huge ambition, to push my fellow students forward no matter your class; we can make the difference if we work together as student and we can make the administration know what we want.”

She promised a quality leadership when elected as President of the Student Council Government of SherleyKoma Memorial Catholic School saying, “I’ve come to provide the kind of leadership that will push the agenda of all students, not only twelve graders, but all students in the SherleyKolma Catholic High School.”

“There are projects that this outgoing senior class needs to undertake, and if I’m given the opportunity to serve as your president, I along with my colleagues will embark on several projects intended for the betterment of this school. Our decision will not be a unilateral decision but a collective decision that will enable us leave a legacy for others to build on,” Ella Sayon noted.

She went on, “Many of you know me that I’m one of the “A” students in this school since I entered; because of my studiousness, I have proven to you that I’m a team player and it is through this means that I and you will achieve the greater good of our noble institution. When elected as your President, I will push your agenda; I will seek your interest and will not relent in engaging the administration wen necessary whenever there is a problem.

“Fellow students let me inform you that leadership is a gift from God; we are blessed that God has given us the wisdom to be a leader. As I speak to you my fellow students, I’m the President of the Shirley Kolma Press Club-an area where I’ve made great strides even when I was not president, I’ve proven to you all that I’m a leader, someone who is willing and propelled to serve and anxious to listen to my fellow students whenever there is a problem. And now, the press club is the most active club in the school and a club that presents a good image of the school. Now, Shirley Kolmer is noted to have the best student journalists among all Catholic schools, which is a boost for the school,” noted.

Ella Success is a product of the St. Michael Catholic High School in Gardnersville. She matriculated to the SherleyKolma Memorial Catholic High School in the township of Bardnersville when her parents-Mr.& Morrison O.G. Sayon moved in the township.

At the St. Michael Catholic School, Ella was outstanding and based on her academic performance, she became one of the first students to get double promotion in a catholic school. Since she entered SherleyKolma, she continues to demonstrate her studiousness becoming one of the best in the school.

Her quest for leadership was noticed when she was appointed as President of the school press club a position she still holds. Based on her splendid performance in various areas on campus, Ella Sayon was encouraged by many to contest the presidency of the student council government, a position she has vowed to win despite the financial strength of her many male challengers.
