Liberia News: Press Secretary Unveils Two Feasibility Study Reports

…Of Boakai's Foreign Trips’ Benefits

Liberia-Presidential Press Secretary Kula Fofana has disclosed the completion of two Feasibility study reports to the Government of Liberia by partners.

“As you can see in my hands are the reports following the completion of the assessment and Feasibility study respectively”, she informed reporters during a regular press briefing at the Executive Mansion.

The reports include the 75 megawatts solar power plant in Bomi and the National Grid Modernization Projects which she said are the result of President Boakai’s recent trip to China, especially the Focal Summit.

According to her, the Liberian leader’s foreign trips are among other things, meant to build Liberia’s image on the international scene as well as bringing tangible investments to Liberia intended to benefit the people. She stressed that the solar power plant project in Bomi will help boost the energy sector in that part of the country and surrounding areas.

The project valued at US$95 million following its completion in two years will improve the sector and the people in general, she further indicated. At the same time, she stated that the National Grid Modernization project will help the government and people greatly.

Additionally, she pointed out that processes leading towards the over-head bridge project are well on course with demolition works ongoing. She said China is committed to help improve Liberia’s infrastructure.

On the issue of Indonesia, she disclosed that the completion of a joint commission team to begin rolling out activities and plan project of the country is underway. “As soon as President Boakai returns, he will look at the documents and take the appropriate decision,” she added.
