Liberia-Bomi County Senator Edwin Snow and Nimba County District #7 Representative Musa Bility have described the government’s recent action by spending off the budget as illegal and those involve should be prosecuted.
Senator Snow and Representative Bility were speaking on Spoon Conversation with the CEO Sunday September 22, 2024. .
Senator Snow said all about spending off the budget are things that happen in the day-to-day operations of the government, stressing that such decision is part of the running of the government through the executive but indicated that such spending is illegal.
According to Senator Snow, the Unity Party led government makes the public to believe that such illegal process in spending off the budget as criminality by the CDC led government that has reflected in their government.
Senator Snow said the executive if spend off the budget due to emergency or security operations, the executive is to write both Chambers committees on ways and means informing them concern about such spending but if not done and get out to the public such action become subspecies.
The Bomi County Senator said the government is a hug institution indicating that it is good for government coming to power to manage the information of the previous government because those same things could return to hunt that government that is accusing the previous administration.
But Representative Bility disagreed with the assertion by Senator Snow that the Executive can informed the Committee on ways and means concerning off budget by the Executive.
According to him, the budget is a law and every spending should be in line with the budget law which he said was not done by the executive.
He further stated that the legislators do not have the power to forgive those who violate the laws emphasizing that those who violate the laws should be prosecuted.
Representative Bility said the Executive spending money on the National Security Agency off the budget is an alleged act of corruption.
