Liberia-Montserrado County Senator Abraham Dillon an executive of Liberty Party has disclosed that the party was established to govern and not to be endorsing people for the presidency.
According to him, the 2023 legislative and presidential elections divided the Liberty Party. He added that after the 2023 elections, LP now has a destiny forever and such destiny had a path that enters the Collaborating Political Party that also resulted to disunity.
Speaking on Ok FM, the LP executive asserted that the disunity within the CPP allowed various parties within the coalition to be where they were destined to be for 2024.
According to him, what the Liberty Party will not seek to do almost immediately is to be looking at 2029 in 2025.
He said the Liberty Party will seek to build, rebrand, and prepare to reunify its members through reconciliation. According to him as part of the party’s efforts to keep its partisans in force, the leadership was able to get a new national Headquarters in Congo Town the previous Headquarter of the People Liberation Party (PLP). Senator Dillon further disclosed that the LP Headquarters will shortly be opened to the public.
At the same time, the Montserrado County Senator also expressed disappointment over the Supreme Court for handing down its ruling in the House of Representative over the removal of the Speaker when all of the parties were claiming victory.
He said such a ruling also allows the crisis to be exhibited with the country stressing that the Supreme Court needs to provide the public with a clear ruling through the Bill of Information filed by embattle speaker Koffa.
