The Liberian leader departed the country Monday for Dares Salaam, Tanzania minutes after delivering his 2nd Annual Message or State of the Nation Address to the National Legislature.

He told the nation that as part of the ARREST AGENDA for Inclusive Development (AAID), about 100,000 households will be connected to the electricity grid annually.

President Boakai told reporters upon arrival at the RIA that the initiative upon, full implementation will go a long way to help ease the difficulty faced by Liberians relative to electricity, especially during the dry season.

The President described the Energy Summit as good and rewarding, and one and will largely greatly help the country and the people on the continent.

“Liberia signed meaningful documents, committing itself to the initiative,” he told Executive Mansion reporters.

The electricity initiative on the continent by 2030 will immensely help in closing the huge gaps normally experienced in the sector, mainly with the people directly feeling the pinch.

The move will see major contributions from the World Bank, African Development banks among others.
