Months ago the road was nearly impassable due to its deplorable state something that caused vehicles several hours to reach to one end to another. Recently, the Ministry of Public Works officially commenced asphalt paving along the Freeport to St. Paul Bridge corridor.
The project, which follows the completion of a one-foot base course designed to withstand heavy-duty equipment, marks a significant milestone in road rehabilitation efforts on BushRod Island. The laying of the binder course began on Friday with the final wearing course set to follow in the coming weeks.
The Ministry expressed optimism about the progress, emphasizing the project’s importance in improving transportation and easing movement along the busy corridor.
BushRod Island is steadily transforming, as the new road promises to enhance accessibility and support economic activity in the area. The road project is being done by a Liberian owned company MDMC.
