Monrovia-Deputy Minister for Instruction at the Ministry of Education has sent out a strong warning to teachers who are in the constant habit of taking advantage of female students in various schools across the country.

Deputy Minister Amos A. fully said the Ministry has received numerous information that some male teachers of public schools are molesting female students something he said the Ministry distastes.

He said, “If that information is true, you need to stop, they are not your wives.”

Appearing on Education Matters on State Radio, the Deputy Minister told the students harassers to leave the classrooms if they are unable to stay away from the people whose kids who have gone to attain an education for the future.

He bluntly said, “You want a woman, get outside there and go marry and you have to leave our female students.”

The Deputy Minister for Instruction has gone to provide clarity about West African Examination Council registration for students of third, six, nine and twelve graders.

Speaking about the WAEC registration, the Deputy Education boss said all public and private schools 3rd graders are paying the sum of one thousand (L$1,000)  while 6th graders are paying the amount of two-thousand (L$2,000).

The Deputy Education boss intoned that for the 9th graders, only private schools are paying the amount of nine-thousand (L$9,000) and public schools 9th graders are not paying any fund apart from L$150 for processing fees.

He furthered that 12th graders in both public and private schools are not paying any money on grounds that the Government of Liberia has underwritten the cost of the public text.

Deputy Minister fully strongly warned schools that are bent on extorting money from parents in the name of flexibility fees to stop as anyone caught in such act will be punished for their act against the parents.
