Monrovia-Feb-6-TNR: Several residents of Careysburg are appealing to the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC) to supply them with electricity in their various towns and villages.
Speaking over the weekend with some residents in the community, they said their towns and villages have been in total darkness for many years without the availability of the LEC current.
Some of the residents pointed out that nothing had been done by their local leaders to ensure that they get the LEC electricity.
The residents told this paper that it is now time that LEC give serious attention to the Careysburg community and other surrounding villages to ensure that they get electricity.
According to them, former President George M. Weah promised them electricity during his campaign visit to the people of District #1, Montserrado County but up to now nothing has been done.
Meanwhile, the residents are calling on the newly elected President, Joseph N Boakai, and their newly elected lawmaker to ensure that the LEC current reach their towns and villages in the district.
The people of Careysburg communities are deeply in need of electricity as some said that other areas in the district are benefiting from LEC current including; 15 Gate, Number 7 Community, New land Community, and other towns and villages.
