Liberia News: Boakai Finally Dismisses Suspended LDEA Officials

…But Kowou Vows To Open Up

Liberia-President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has officially dismissed the three suspended officials of the Liberian Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA).

The three top officials dismissed by President Boakai include, Director General Abraham S. Kromah, Deputy Director General for Administration Gbawou Kowou, and Deputy Director General for Operations Hassan Fadiga.

The three former government officials were suspended by President Boakai on June 3, 2024 for acts of disorder and chaos among the leadership responsible for combating illicit drugs in the country.

President Boakai further ordered an investigation into the LDEA leadership predicament though findings of an investigation conducted over the behavior of the three LDEA officials are yet to be release to the public.

Following President Boakai’s decision over the weekend, the dismissed Deputy Director General for Administration of the LDEA, Gbawou Kowou, has planned to speak to the media soon about major issues surrounding his departure and beyond.

Attorney Kowo is a Criminal Justice Professor at the African Methodist Episcopal Zion University (AMEZU) and a part-time lecturer at the University of Liberia.
