French Ambassador to Liberia, Isabelle Le GUELLEC has disclosed that Air France is expected to resume flight to Liberia.
Air France cancelled flight to Liberia in January of 2022. It announced the cancellation of all flights to Mali as of January as part of sanctions placed on Mali by the French Government and subsequently Liberia for what they termed as economically prudent to continue daily flights to Liberia with limited numbers of passengers.
Amb. Le Guellec said the resumption of French is in line with the recent improvement work carried out at the airport, thus acknowledging the safety and protection of various flights coming into the country.
She assured that the reawakening of Air France will intensify the trust and divert much-needed resources into government’s revenue.
At the same time, Ambassador Isabelle Le Guellech vowed to support the Senate reforms and the potential synergies between the youth development plans and initiatives for youth mentorship in the country as well as financial support for vocational training programs.
The French Ambassador was speaking Wednesday when she met with Senate Pro-Tempore NyonbleeKarnga-Lawrence in Monrovia.
In remarks, Pro-Tempore NyonbleeKarnga-Lawrence applauded the French diplomat for restoring what she termed as the biggest flight from the government of France to Liberia that could ease the bilateral relationship between both nations.
Senate Pro-Tempore Karnga-Lawrence noted that the French government has agreed to send civil servants from the Senate of Liberia to France for an International Short Program (Programmed Internationale Court-PIC) focused on the organization of parliamentary work.
The Pro-Tempore stressed that the scholarship will cover the round trip, housing, social protection, and living allowance, offering a comprehensive support package for the selected participant.
The Grand Bassa Senator furthered that the meeting underscores the strong and collaborative relationship between both nations, noting that the discussions and initiatives will place Liberia on a positive trajectory for informed national growth.
