Counties’ Residence Engineer Reshuffle A Must

MONROVIA-Public Works Minister Ruth Coker-Collins has disclosed plans to reshuffle counties’ Residence Engineers due to their complacency.

According to Minister Coker-Collins, such a decision is intended to make those Residence Engineers across the country to be proactive in implementing their duties and do way with complacency.

Speaking on state radio recently she said it is unfortunate that citizens will post deplorable road conduction without the County’s Residence Engineer providing first hand information to the Ministry.

She narrated that it is the responsibility of the County’s Residence Engineers to provide the needed information concerning the road condition of their areas.

Minister Coker-Collins   further disclosed that the Ministry is working to have a hub in rural Liberia for engineers to work on the roads mostly at the project site.

She indicated that her visit to rural Liberia was to assess those areas that the hub will be stationed for quick intervention on those roads during the dry season.

The Public Works boss wants the Liberia National Police in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport to stop those trucks from using those roads that are deplorable in rural Liberia.

According to her, those guys with the trucks are destroying the roads by digging the roads and not covering it.
