MONROVIA-The Minister of Public, Madam Ruth Coker-Collins has given Marketers along the Parker Paint-ELWA Road to vacate by April 7, 2023.
Minister Coker-Collin’s deadline was contained in a public service announcement aired on the Liberia Broadcasting System.
According to the Minister of Public Works’ Notification, Marketers are dumping filth and waste on these roads that are under construction.
She mentioned that the Road from Packer Paint Junction to ELWA will be completed in May of this year.
She noted that the Ministry is not going to compromise the stipulated deadline because contractors are complaining about the huge pile of garbage that is thrown out on these roads.
The Notification further urged the Leadership of the Liberia Marketing Association (LMA), the Liberia National Police (LNP) the Petite Traders Association to cooperate with April 7, 2023 deadline.
In a related development, some road users mostly motorcyclists praised the Public Works Minister for ensuring that the Packer Paint to ELWA Junction Road project is about to be completed.
According to the motorcyclists, it is the supervision of the Public Works Boss that prompted the contractors to speed up the work.
