MAN 29, SENTENCED TO 10 YEARS IN PRISON

BUCHANAN-Grand Bassa County 2nd Judicial Circuit Court has sentenced to 10 years imprisonment a notorious criminal identified as Seth Koosono.
Seth Koosono, alias Triple 2 according to the Court’s Ruling has been sent to prison for 10 years for Commission of the Crime of Arm Robbery.
Seth Koosomo has pleaded guilty to the commission of the crime of armed robbery.
29 years-old Seth Koosono has been hijacking scores of Citizens in Bassa and masterminding several criminal activities in and out of Buchanan, Grand Bassa County something that had led him to jail on several occasions prior to his sentence.
Recently, after spending several months in jail prior to the court’s final ruling the 7th grade dropped out Seth Koosono commonly called by many of his street counterparts Triple 2, openly confessed in a court of armed robbing one Musa Jallah and others by taking away many Itel phones and cash between July 31 to August 2, 2022 in Taye Town and Buchanan City, Grand Bassa County.
After his opened confession in the Court, Grand Bassa County 2nd Judicial Circuit Court Judge, Joe Barkon said plea was set aside since the offense was a capital offense, consistent with Chapter 16, Section 16.4 of the Criminal Procedure Law of Liberia.
The Criminal Procedure Law of Liberia states that the conviction of the crime of Armed Robbery, Terrorism or Hijacking under Sections 14.54, 15.32, and 33 of this Act, the felons shall be sentenced to a term of imprisonment for a period of not less than fifteen calendar years with the possibility of parole after eight (8) calendar years after serving three-quarters of the sentence in the case of a higher sentence, provided that a longer sentence may be imposed by the court based on peculiar facts and circumstances of the case, and provided further that where no death, rape, or property damage or personal injury occurs as a result of any of the offender or offenders;
It also further that any person convicted of Armed Robbery, Terrorism or Hijacking under Sections 14.54, 15. 32 and 15. 33 of the Act be sentenced to a team of imprisonment of not less than twenty (20) calendar years with the possibility of parole after twelve (12) calendar years or after serving three-quarters of the sentence in the case of a higher sentence, provided that the longer sentence may be imposed by the court based on the peculiar facts and circumstances of the case, and provided further that where personal injury is sustained and/or valuables taken away as a result of the act of the felon or felons.
Inconsistent with the criminal panel law of Liberia, Grand Bassa County Resident Circuit Court Judge Joe Barkon beyond all evidence established during the trial in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Law of Liberia finally ruled and sentenced Triple 2 to 10 years in person.
According to Judge Barkon, Seth Koosono during the last six months of his ten years sentence, he shall be released to the Division of Probation Services for Probation and rehabilitation purposes.
