Gov’t, Partners   Reaffirm Commitment

MONROVIA-The Chairperson of the 2022 National Population and Housing Census, Finance Minister Samuel Tweah, and the Co-Chairperson of United Nations Liberia Resident Coordinator,  Niel Scott have extolled the House of Representative’s Leadership for their interventions and suggestions to adjust the census enumeration timeline to a date to be agreed by the Liberian Senate and subsequently endorsed by President George M. Weah.

In a release from the Ministry of Finance Development Planning, the government and partners reaffirmed their commitment to delivering the 2022 National Population and Housing Census.

 The government in the release expressed regret of the unforeseen technical and logistical challenges that necessitated such a change in the enumeration schedule of the 2022 Census that was slated for October 7 to November.

The release also noted the Technical and Logistical challenges that arose due to the unforeseen lapses in the census.

The government and partners then ensure transparency and accountability in the recruitment process that the government and partners led by UNFP have reviewed the process and have commissioned a technical committee to review the applications received and ensure a due process in the selection of the potential enumerators based on specific technical criteria in respect of all applications.
