MONROVIA-The Margibi Community Health Department Director James Varney is calling for an immediate audit in the alleged Eight Hundred Thousand United States Dollars money saga at the Margibi County Health Team as his character is at stake.
According to Mr. Varney, the amount in question was never given to the county.
“The agreement was to give us two hundred thousand quarterly but were called only to note that the money was not coming per plan due to insufficient funds. Instead of us receiving our 25% quarterly, we will receive 9% of the 25% quarterly planned money”. The dismissed Community Health Department Director added.
It can be recalled in January 2022 that the Ministry of Health and Margibi sign a contract with Farrah which was in the tone of Eight Hundred Thousand United States Dollars for operational purposes.
In recent times, FrontPage Africa Margibi County correspondent reported of seven persons from Margibi County Health Team that were allegedly linked in connection with the money.
Mr. Varney named 17 generators, 17 land phones, scratch cards, and gas that were given but not cash stating that MOH lie to him and was scared to carry on an audit only because they will be exposed. ‘I challenge the ministry to come and conduct an audit on us’, he added.
Addressing scores of journalists in a harsh tone over the weekend, Director James Varney noted that officials at the Ministry of Health are not doing due diligence adding that since the incident, the ministry has since refused to carry on an audit.
“If the audit is done and proves that I am guilty, I’m willing to undergo any legal penalty and be prosecuted by law”. Alleged Community Health Director maintained.
He, therefore, called on the national government, civil society actors, and the American Embassy to probe into the situation for a proper audit. At the same time, all efforts to get the Ministry of Health are yet to materialize this paper.
