MONROVIA-One of the female Lawmakers at the House of Representatives, 54th Legislature, and Bong County, District # 6, Representative, Moima Briggs Mensah has urged her female colleagues to double up efforts aimed at securing their various seats at the Legislature in the upcoming Presidential and Legislative Elections, that are scheduled to take place on October 10, 2023.
Representative Mensah mentioned that the number of female representatives at the Legislature is limited as compared to their male counterparts.
She admonished her colleagues to have constructive engagement with their various constituents in the country.
Speaking Thursday, February 16, 2023, on Truth FM 96.1, the Bong County Lawmaker pledged the female lawmakers’ unflinching support geared toward the election of more female candidates at the Legislature.
According to her, it is vital for the female lawmakers who are seeking reelection to do away with complacency.
The Bong County lawmakers indicated that her comments are intended to motivate females to aspire high in pursuit of their legislative agendas.
Madam Briggs Mensah encouraged the female lawmakers to keep engaging their various constituents.
“ I did not have a job but was able to win the elections in 2017, as an independent candidate only because of how I work with my people. At the time women were considered as the heads of the homes for men, for now, are over, emphasizing that women play key roles in decision-making both and abroad.
I will be contesting as an independent candidate and my decision is based on the people of Salala District”, the Bong County Lawmaker noted.
