-Partners with Mercy Corps Liberia

MONROVIA-The Lonestar Cell MTN has launched a new program competition in Liberia.T he competition was launched under the theme:, “MOMOHECATOMB”. The competition seeks to develop and upgrade the computer skills of Liberians as a top priority.

Speaking on OK FM Conversation on February 1, 2023, the Head of Products at LoneStar Cell Mobile Money, Manju Konneh, disclosed that the program is intended for those with knowledge in Information Technology,  (IT).

According to him, the competition is designed to bring out the basic skills of every Liberian and to point out the new Hecatomb winners.

He said that the competition is the very first version of it series that is calling on all developing persons to form part of it so as to bring out the hidden and rising talents in them.

“We hope that this can be an annual event in Liberia”, Mr. Konneh stressed”.

Mr. Konneh at the same time disclosed that LoneStar Cell will continue to partner with Mercy Crops Liberia to make sure that every year the program is held.

He mentioned that Mercy Crops being the partner has brought on board more support to the GSM Company to ensure that they have the competition.

The LoneStar Cell Mobile Money head furthered that the process is now open to every Liberian that has the needed skills to be the next Hecatomb of the company.

According to him, the application process for this year’s hecatomb competition has started and will end on February 24, 2023.

“Winner will walk away with a grand prize at LoneStar hecatomb winner,” he disclosed.

Konneh narrated that there are various stages and series for the competition to benefit those with the needed skills.

Following the conservation, Robert Walker, the Senior Innovation and Technology Officer of Mercy Crops Liberia, narrated that Mercy Crops is currently running a program under the theme ‘prospect’.

The technology officer at the company disclosed that the prospecting program is part of Mercy Crops’ efforts to bring developmental works together.

“The intent of the Mercy Corps Program is to focus on the development of youths in Liberia,” Mr. Walker pointed out.

In furtherance, he said that youth development has been the major focus of Mercy Crops Liberia, and now to see them partnering with LoneStar Cell Mobile Money is a very big boost.

He mentioned that they are also focused on getting into the market to develop people with the needed skills.

According to him, Mercy Crops has carried out a series of hecatomb programs in Liberia, but MTN is a products skill hecatomb competition.

He disclosed that LoneStar Cell has opened what he called an EPI system that helps in developing the Market.
