The Executive Committee met and reaffirmed the MDR’s  Independent position as of the Party’s Ganta Convention and has subsequently constituted a Committee to Investigate Mr. Wilfred N. Bangura and accord him all the rights under the doctrine of due process as also enshrined in the Liberian constitution accordingly.

The release noted that the five-men Committee is headed by Mr. Michael Dadedeh, and they were overwhelmingly mandated by the Executive committee to report in one week period for a prompt decision.

The decision of the National Executive Committee stems from Mr. Bangura’s recent Press Conference, in which he stated that the MDR still supports the re-election of President Weah and the CDC-led Government.

Mr. Bangura went on to say that, Statements of both the Lead Vision Bearer, Sen. Prince Y . Johnson, and the Standard Bearer Sen. Jeremiah Kpang Koung Official statement that was reiterated following the Ganta Convention through various mediums run contrary to the Party Position.

The MDR would like to reemphasize that the party’s position to feed a Presidential Candidate come October and also endorsed by the Executive Committee of the Party following the Party’s convention remains on course.

Meanwhile, the Executive Committee Meeting further warmed all Members including Party’s Executives to refrain from making public utterances similar to Mr. Bangura who happens to be the Vice Chair for Governmental Affairs in the name of the MDR, unlike the official Spoke person of the party or designated authority as provided by the party constitution to speak on behalf of the MDR Officially.

As one of the biggest Political Institutions in Liberia, the MDR has embarked on ongoing consultations across Liberia including Nimba County, Gbapolu County, and Bong County.
