NSA Officer Gets 25yrs Sentence

MONROVIA-Criminal Court “A” has sentenced Arthur Chancha, personnel of the National Security Agency (NSA) for 25 years having been found guilty of trafficking two Liberian ladies to Oman.

Defendant Chancha who is 58 years of old, and his brother identified as Samuel Chancha, conspired and misled into taking the ladies to Oman under the falsehood of providing them with a job opportunity that will earn them five hundred United States dollars monthly.

The defendant was adjudged guilty last weekend by a 12-man juror panel for trafficking the ladies.

Handing down the sentence Wednesday, January 18, 2023, Criminal Court “A” Judge Roosevelt Willie said the defendant has no criminal records as per a probationer report presented by the ministry of justice, but he has no right as security personnel to have assisted and conspire with his brother who is in Dubai.

Defendant Arthur Chancha was indicated by the grand jury of Montserrado County on November 2, 2022, for criminal trafficking in person.

However, the defendant was ordered the defendant to pay the amount of $ 100.000 thousand United States dollars in keeping with section 5 ‘A’ of the trafficking-in-person law.

Judge Willie further instructed the culprit to restitute the victims’ money in the amount of over Five thousand United States dollars, while, the defense counselor in the person of Cllr, Sennay Carlor has announced an appeal to the honorable Supreme Court of Liberia.
