Liberia News: 17-YEAR-OLD BOY DIES FROM KUSH

Monrovia-Feb-6-TNR: Report emanating from Sinoe County, says a 17-year-old boy has died from taking in kush in Greenville City, Sinoe County.

According to the report, three young guys went to the ghetto to purchase narcotic substances.  The report added that the victim was moved by peer pressure from his friend to take in the harmful substances otherwise known as Kush.

According to the report, the victim started with the smoking grass and other harmful substances through his friends’ influence.

Our source furthered that there is another harmful drug identified as Spark and Die which young Liberians are getting deeply involved in taking.

The report added that the new harmful substance killsimmediately as long the person who takes it does not have strong control. Our source confirmed that some of those with strong control usually reach the hospital to seek medical attention due to its immediate effect.

According to the report, the nurses and doctors at the hospital tried to resuscitate the victim but to no avail as they did everything possible to restore the victim. The report disclosed that the victim’s friends are on the run because the Liberia National Police (LNP) along with the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency(LDEA) are in search of them, and some community dwellers are also in search of them.

Our source furthered that the community dwellers are yet to know the whereabouts of the two friends who took the victim along with them to take in the kush. The report disclosed that the remains of the boy had been turnedover to his family for burial.

According to the report, residents of Greenville City are calling on police authorities to immediately take serious action against those who are involved in selling harmful substances to young people in the county.
