Lewis Brown is Ex_rebel

MONROVIA_ Sept. 16_Dr. Lester Tenny who served as Vice President for Technical Services at the National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL) few years ago, has accused Lewis Brown of being an ex-rebel during the regime of President Charles Taylor.

Dr. Tenny made the accusation after Mr. Brown endorsed the ANC candidate Mr. Alexander Cummings for the presidency in the 2023 elections.
Both serving as guest on the Spoon Talk, Dr. Tenny narrated that on March 2, 2000, he and four other student leaders were arrested on the campus of the University of Liberia by the Former Anti-Terrorist Unit (ATU) under the leadership of Chucky Taylor and taken to the Liberia National Police headquarters and placed in the custody of Paul Mulbah the than Police Director.
Later during the day, Mr. Brown and two other body guards took them from the LNP headquarter to the John F Kennedy Medical Hospital to show them wounded soldiers as a proof of war being fought in Lofa.
According to him, Brown who was seen with a pistol placed on his side and told President Taylor that he and his colleagues should be taken on the war front in Lofa but the Liberia Council of Churches pleaded on their behalf.

In Dr. Tenny‘s words, Mr. Alexander Cummings cannot be preaching change and clean hands and be associating with people who are seen as trouble maters in Liberia. He added that Lewis Brown is a participant of the war and served in governments that were corrupt, which has caused Liberia to become a disorder society.
“Cummings can recruit all the Warlords, we will still defeat him”, Dr. Tenny said.
In response to Dr. Tenny’s allegations, Mr. Lewis Brown denied ever partaking in any war fought in Liberia even though, he served in lucrative positions in governments of people who were accused of contributing to the war in Liberia.
“I have never held a pistol by my side”, he said.
He announced that he served because it was an honorable thing to give service to country and he needed to contribute to the building of Liberia.
Alluding to the fact that corruption existed, he called on the CDC government to stop the guilt by association and also challenged them to audit the Sirleaf administration and prosecute him, if found guilty.

Brown disclosed that he supported the CDC led government silently for five (5) years, but choose to support the ANC political leader because of the poor leadership President Weah is exhibiting since ascending to power.

“To change a country, we got to start with the president. I will fight with Alex and we will beat you all like old drum in 2023, Brown said.
