“Let’s Not Talk About Peace, Let’s Act”

-President Weah Asserts

President George Weah is calling on Liberians to be an actor of peace instead of just talking peace without being peaceful.

He was speaking at the pavilion in Buchanan on Saturday at the program marking the official ceremony of the KUKATORNON (“We Are One”) PEACE FESTIVAL in commemoration of the August 18,2003- Accra Peace Accord Under the Theme: “Solidifying the gains of UNMIL Peace Mission; consolidating Efforts to Enhancing Peace in Liberia” and also celebrating 15- years of peace in Liberia.

The Liberian leader said there’s need that citizens start acting peace; saying Liberians should limit the talking and embark on practical activities of peace.

“As we’re talking about reconciliation it should also ring bell in our ears that maintaining peace simply means patriotism,” president Weah pointed out.

“Today we are celebrating fifteen years of peace but let’s remember we are together because of peace,” he added.

During the 14 years of war we did not just destroy properties but we also destroyed our dignity as people, let’s join hands and promote the peace that others died for in the past,” president Weah urged.

“When there is war there is no hope so let us uphold democracy and good governance, no matter the hard time we must succeed and shall live refugee live no more, he stressed. If we remember that lot of things were done by the international community to be where we are today, let us do everything to be peaceful and remain peaceful,” he indicated.

He said if there is a problem Liberians should find solutions to solve the problem and not going violent.

Dr. Weah urged Liberians “we are not in a political battle so if there is an issue let’s dialogue and lead to the road that promote democracy.”

He reminded citizens that the political battle is over and it is time to accelerate as a country.

President Weah encouraged Liberians that despite the difficulties things will be better.

He at the same time lauded the European Union, African Union and other international partners for their supports to Liberia.
