LDEA Gets Tough

-Arrests Expired Drugs

The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) has arrested several ‘expired drugs’ from various health centers and drug stores across the city.

Bio Form Health Center is being affected by the raid carried out by the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency and is temporarily shut down for allegedly selling expired pharmaceutical drugs.

The agency has also arrested huge quantity of expired pharmaceutical drugs from two “illegal” dispensers in Mount Barclay

Suspects Sando Doe and his wife Janet Doe were arrested with the huge quantity of illegal pharmaceutical drugs following intelligence from the National Security Agency.

The LDEA Boss Marcus Soko put the value of the expired pharmaceutical drugs at a little over US$15,000.00.

Director Soko told the station that the confiscated drugs will be burned while the perpetrators undergo prosecution.

At the same time, OkayFM said the Liberia Medical Health Regulatory Authority has temporary closed down the Bio Form Health Center for selling expired pharmaceutical drugs to the public.

LMHRA officials told a joint news conference along with the Liberia Medical Dental Council that the Bio Form Health Center was caught selling expired drugs following a search and monitoring from its team of inspectors.
