-Nimba Chairman Clarifies Delay In Payment
The chairman of the Project Management Committee (PMC) of Nimba says their delay in the payment of the PMC contractors is due to ‘lack of resources.’
Speaking to reporters over the weekend in Sanniquellie, Peterson Walker admitted owing the contractors, but disclosed that the lack of resources in the county is not only affecting the PMC contractors, but also staffers of the PMC office.
Walker than called on the contractors to exercise patient as plans are under way to address their concerns during the County Council Sitting, adding that this is the first of its kind since his ascendancy as Chairman of the County Project Management Committee to owe workers and contractors for over six months.
It can be recalled contractors of the PMC of Nimba recently called on the PMC and the County leadership to pay their six months arrears before the County Council Sitting.
The PMC Contractors further revealed that they have engaged the PMC Chairman, but nothing has allegedly been done to address their plights.
Walker said the lack of resources in the county is also contributing to the untimely implementation of some needed development initiatives in the county.
The PMC Chairman assured the workers and people of Nimba that more developments will shortly kick off across the county after the immediate conduct of the county Council sitting.
