Koung Concludes County Tour

Nimba County electoral district one Representative Jeremiah Kpan Koung has concluded a two-week tour across the county.

The Nimba district one lawmaker was accompanied during the trip by some prominent citizens as well as defeated representative candidates of electrical district eight including Melvin Saye Sendolo Garpeh, Saye Miannah, Jackson Fiindor, Rufus Mandein and Felecia Kolleh.

During the tour, Representative Koung who is dubbed by Nimbaians as ‘development king’ visited four of the nine electoral districts which include districts five, six seven and eight respectively.

The lawmaker used the 14-day tour to acquaint himself with citizens and assessed the development needs of the people especially those in ‘marginalized communities’ across the county.

Speaking to cross section of excited citizens during the tour, Representative Koung acknowledged difficulties citizens are faced with and assured them of his commitment to mitigate them.

Key amongst issues proffered by citizens was deplorable conditions which according to them make it impossible for them to get their farm products to the market.

Representative Koung has since been blessed by the ‘political godfather’ of the county, Senator Prince Yormie Johnson alias “PYJ” to contest the impending 2020 Sprcial Senatorial Election.

The lawmaker’s senatorial ambition was overwhelmingly endorsed by citizens of Yao Tahnplay town, Buu-Yao district.

In their petition statement read by Kolegar Mernklee, the exuberance citizens outlined major projects initiated by the lawmaker including the annexes of the John Wesley Pearson High school and the Esther and Jereline Medical Center in Ganta and expressed hope that when elected as Senator, the lawmaker will do more.

In response, Representative Koung commended residents of the town for acknowledging his contributions to the development of the county.

According to him, citizens of Buu-Yao district need urgent attention in terms of development especially road connectivity.

He promised to address challenges confronting citizens of the County.

The Movement for Democracy and Reconstruction (MDR) stalwart stressed that Senator Prince Yormie Johnson who is the political godfather of the County has done his best by defending the county during Liberia’s instability and it is now time for citizens of Nimba to contribute their quota to the development of the county.

According to the district one Lawmaker who is serving another six years term as Representative said the county needs a Senator that will work closely with Senator Johnson in fostering the county’s development agenda. TNR
