Journalist Debunks Prest Weah’s mouthpiece statement

MONROVIA-The official mouthpiece  for president  George Weah, Isaac Solo Kelgbeh’s  statement has been debunked by veteran journalist,  Joel Cholo Brooks.  Brooks   is also publisher of GNN-Global News Network. Presidential Press Secretary, Kelgbeh described a story  published by GNN that president George Weah owns a  Yacht as untrue and was part of yellow journalism.

The story was published in 2019 and there was no comment from the presidential press Secretary nor any official.

Journalist Brooks said it was unfortunate for  the official mouthpiece  of  the  president  to take such posture after both of them had spoken  and  planned a meeting. But to his surprise,  Kelgbeh  released the statement  describing the report as one  characterized  by falsehood.

“What is most surprising, is this story was published two years four months ago without any response from the office of the Press Secretary until Sunday, August 1, 2021; when both the Deputy Information Minister for Public Affairs, Jarlawah Tonpo and Mr. Isaac Solo Kelgbeh, Presidential Press Secretary called to inquire the facts surrounding the article in question,” journalist Brooks said in a release.

“Based on their inquires, I proposed a meeting with the Deputy Information Minister for Public Affairs scheduled for Monday, August 2, 2021 at 10am a proposal which he graciously accepted,” he said.

However, to my dismay, I listened and read a press statement from the Presidential Press Secretary published on the Executive Mansion official Face Book Page and on other media outlets refuting our publication, and referring to the Publisher, Joel Cholo Brooks as a ‘Yellow Journalist’, despite our planned schedule meeting on the same day.
