-Weah Praises God For 1st Year In Office
President George Manneh Weah has praised God almighty for the peaceful running of the country as head of state for the first anniversary.
January 22, 2019 made the Liberian Government headed by President Weah one year in office. Speaking at a thanksgiving service Tuesday at the Dominion Christian Fellowship Center in Congo Town, the Liberian leader said he was grateful for ‘successfully conducting’ the affairs of the country in his first year.
“Many thanks to the almighty God for the level of progress so far for the anniversary of our government. As President of the Republic of Liberia, I cannot help, but just reflect on the goodness and greatness of the almighty God. His love has brought us this far,” he said.
The Liberian chief executive used the occasion to reaffirm the commitment of his government to promote peace, protection of human rights, freedom of speech, protection of women and girls’ rights and the development of the country.
“Fellow Liberians, let’s be grateful, I say let’s be grateful and thankful because most often we are depressed on what needs to be done and forget to be thankful for all of what has already been done,” he added.
President Weah thanked the Liberian people for the confidence reposed in him to serve the country.
“I say I am grateful for the things he has done and continues to do for our country,” he concluded in his brief statements on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, President Weah has thanked and prayed for the development partners of the country, saying “may God strengthen them and give them wisdom as they work with us in the name of Jesus Christ.”
