MONROVIA-Several residents of Paynesville, especially the GSA Road junction are calling on authorities of the Paynesville City Corporation to take action on removing the garbage from their area.
According to the community residents, the Paynesville City Corporation management is not effective in removing the garbage from their community, thus causing serious health problem for them.
Speaking to our reporter Thursday in Paynesville, Joseph Kerkula stressed the need for the Paynesville City Corporation Management to put into place a system that will keep the community clean mostly by removing the garbage in time.
He said keeping the garbage within the community for over two to three days is unhealthy for the community dwellers.
According to him, the long stay of the garbage within the community causes pollution and the increase of flies.
Joseph said there is a need for the community leaders and that of the Paynesville City Corporation Management to put into place a system that will improve the situation especially, at the GSA Road junction and other parts of the community.
He further said the community leadership needs to formulate a community Base Enterprise that will be responsible to collect the garbage from the community and the Paynesville City Corporation Management takes it to the dump site in time on a daily basis.
He further informed our reporter that it is only through partnership with the community leadership and that of the Paynesville City Corporation Management will help in keeping the city clean.
Mr. Kerkula said it is because of the inability on the part of the Paynesville City Corporation Management to implement the city ordinances that are preventing them to generate the actual revenue to keep the city clean.
According to him, the city ordinance is a key component of the Paynesville City Corporation Management to ensure that everyone within the city limit adheres to as a means of keeping the city clean including its beautification .
He however called on the community residents to get involved in controlling and keeping their environment clean at all times.
