Grand Kru Falls to COVID-19

MONROVIA-Grand Kru County, one of the counties that has been  free of the Covid-19 has now fallen as three persons have come down with   the virus, Health Minister, Dr. Wilhelmina Jallah disclosed.

The health Minister confirmed the three persons who came down with the virus on State Radio, Tuesday July 27, 2021.

Minister Jallah has been worried about the virus spreading over the just last county due to the proximity of Grand Kru with Maryland, but her worry was in vain as the county has now joined the list of the counties that have recorded cases of Covid in Liberia.

Maryland County has been reporting several covid-19 cases over the time unlike Grand Kru that has just fallen prey to the COVID-19 pandemic due to the proximity.

Minister Jallah said Maryland has done almost eight thousands coronavirus test as a means of preventing the spread of the COVID-19.

According  to  her, the testing  materials  that were  donated by  the Government of France to Liberia have  been distrusted across  the country   with Maryland  County Health Team  ensuring  that  the citizens  are tested .

She emphasized that the Ministry is working closely with all of the counties local authorities including the securities, communities’ residents to ensure that the people are tested.

Minister Jallah however revealed that the Ministry team is administering COVID-19 testing of people at the various borders across the Liberia.

She said anybody coming into Liberia will have to be tested at the border before entering in other parts of the country.

The Liberia Health boss also pronounced that the Government of America has presented three hundred and two thousands, four hundred Johnson and Johnson Vaccine to the people of Liberia.

She said August five, the J& J vaccine rolled out to the public, indicating that the Ministry wants to ensure that all of the countries receive the vaccine.

Minister Jallah said the Team will begin with Montserrado County because of the huge number the county has recorded since the virus broke for the second time.

She said the vaccine will be administered to those who have never taken covid-19 vaccine before urging those who have taken it before not to take the J&J vaccine.
