-To keep Clear Of The Executive Mansion During Planned Protest
Monrovia, Liberia-December 12, 2025: Information Minister Jerolinmek Matthew Piah has delivered a sharp warning to the civic group STAND, telling them to keep clear of the Executive Mansion during their planned “Lead or Leave” protest on December 17.
Piah firmly stated that the Executive Mansion “is not a place for demonstrations,” underscoring the government’s plan to enforce tight security around the presidency’s headquarters. His message signals that authorities will not tolerate any protest activity in that area.
This warning comes as STAND continues to mobilize thousands for what it describes as a peaceful action calling for improved governance. The growing tension is raising fresh debate over citizens’ protest rights and the limits on public gatherings in Liberia.
