GOL Concludes Investigation In Recent Fire Outbreak

The Government of Liberia through the national fire service of Liberia has concluded investigation into the September 18, 2019 fire disaster that led twenty-eight muslin children dead in the Bassa Community, in Paynesville.

Findings from this investigation will be released  to the Liberian public next Monday, September 30 2019 after being presented to the president, according to authorities of the Information Ministry official.

It can be recalled that on September 18, 2019 there were a fire incident which reportedly claimed the lives of two dozen students and three teachers at an islam8ic boarding school in the city of Paynesville, Montserrado County.

Speaking at the Ministry of Information Cultural Affairs and Tourism regular Thursday briefing in Monrovia, Deputy Minister for Public Affairs Eugene Fahgon announced that the investigation into the fire outbreak had been concluded and that they are awaiting the arrival of President Weah so as to turn out said report from the investigation for his consideration.

According to Fahgon, once it is presented to the president, the government will call a press conference hopefully Monday, September 30, 2019 to inform the Liberian people on the outcome of the incident.

Though he did not provide detail information regarding findings from the investigation, he noted that the cause of the outbreak have been established by the Liberia National Fire Service that mean Liberian will now have an insight what actually happened, how it happened, factors that precipitated the incident and those responsible for the tragedy.
