The General Auditing Commission (GAC), Liberia’s Supreme Audit Institution, will on today, Thursday, June 28, 2018, hosts its first forum.
According to a release from the GAC, the forum will be held under the theme ‘Enhancing Government’s Developmental Agenda by promoting Accountability and Transparency’.
The interactive forum, which brings together the commission’s stakeholders and partners at the TM Mall Conference Hall in Mamba Point in Monrovia seeks to engage these partners and stakeholders on the audit processes in the country.
The release quotes the GAC as saying that the forum would also emphasize the need to strengthen these partnerships through coordination and understanding.
The release further noted that the forum would also be characterized by the presentation of the Annual Audit Plan of the General Auditing Commission for the 2018-2019 fiscal period, while stakeholders and partners would, at the same time, share ideas and knowledge about transparency, and a brief orientation on the overall public audit, along with integrity institutions.
According to the release, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Bhofal Chambers is expected to launch the program, while the Auditor General of Liberia, Yusador S. Gaye, would provide an overview of the program.
