Fulfilling Promise

Nyan, Fuamah District-Bong County Electoral District seven Representative Joseph Papa Kolleh has dedicated auditorium of the Botoe Barclay Public School in Nyan, Fuamah District, Bong Mine.

Speaking at the dedicatory ceremony of the auditorium on February 17, 2022, in Nyan Town, the Representative Kolleh said the project is in response to a request made to him by the students of the Botoe Barclay Public School when he served as guest speaker for the second graduation ceremony of the institution during the heat of 2017 general and presidential elections in the country.

The Bong County down-to-earth Lawmaker put the estimated cost of the facility as little over four thousand United States dollars (US$4000) in the District.

“You know during the campaign tour we were called to serve as guest speaker for the second graduation ceremony of this Botoe Barclay High School. I was asked by some students who said, Hon. Kolleh can you help us with an auditorium that can be used for our program?

I said no problem, so I said your fifth graduation ceremony we will fix your auditorium so it can be used for that day.”

According to Rep. Kolleh, the construction of the auditorium started a few months back adding that things were difficult, but by the grace of God it’s being completed.

He noted that it’s always good when promises are made to people during political campaigns, those who make such commitments return and have their commitments fulfilled.

The Bong County District#7 Lawmaker asserted that the first project he undertook on the campus of Botoe Barclay High School is the construction of a palava hut.

He recounted that his second project was the provision of books for the institution aimed at preparing the senior students for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

Rep. Kolleh boastfully said as a result of this project several senior students made a successful pass in WASSCE.

For there, the administration and students of Botoe Barclay High School and the local leadership of Fuamah District have lauded the Representative for the construction of the auditorium.

They described the auditorium dedication ceremony as a dream that comes through for the school.

The Botoe Barclay High School students and administration said the newly constructed auditorium will help to boost the school’s academic performance because students will be using the auditorium for the scholarly program in the County.
