MONROVIA-A movement intended to emancipate the people of district number thirteen, Montserrado County from backwardness to total transformation has been officially launched.
With the quest and determination to change the narrative for the better, especially in District thirteen, Montserrado County, the movement dominantly young people on Saturday, April 2, 2022 gathered en mass to send a very strong message across the district that, it is time that they who are the direct owners of the district evidence of their numerical advantage (the Young people) take complete charge of the political affairs of that industrialized district.
Speaking at the official launching ceremony the spokesman of the “FOS” Derrick Bashall said the young people of the district have come to reclaim what belongs to them, saying better late than never”.
He said they will remain engaged with the issues including ensuring that they deliver the district from ashes to beauty.
In order to begin the process with tangible approaches and impact, Derrick said the Friends of Success started the launching program with a cleanup exercise haven’t already identified the challenges the district is faced with as far as sanitation alone with hygiene is concerned.
“Our young people turned out today, they gave their district and respective communities a facelift and this is just the beginning of what we have in the package to rescue this district from in his words, past, poor representation and leadership”, he added.
Speaking about the Chief Patron of the movement, Success Abu Minor, Barshall stressed that his boss is the new face and savior to help transform the district.
“We are all aware of the current political realities as such we believe that a rapid and robust team is needed and my boss is the special one”, he bragged.
According to him, Mr. Minor is a sellable individual within the district haven already laid a solid foundation for himself over the period.“ He has been one voice in the past who led a campaign through positive engagement with CEMENCO to ensure that his people get the necessary benefit from the company, he has been a true leader who believes in the welfare of his people and he has also helped to render assistance to the less fortunate and underprivileged people within the district”, and just to name a few, Derrick added.
He told the gathering that the FOS has already earmarked some strategic programs and projects which they intend to embark upon soon and will make a greater impact within the district.
Derrick indicated that the young people who overwhelmingly turned out for the launch of the Movement are convinced that the district needs to be liberated as such; they pledged their uncompromising support and full willingness to work harder in order to make a complete difference and help redeemed the district and its people.
Meanwhile, the launching program which started with a parade ended with a sporting tournament which brought together scores of young people including residents of the district together to show case their talents as the sporting activities were also meant to bring residents of the district together in a united front despite diverse political backgrounds.
