Favor Orphanage Identifies With Kids

MONROVIA-Dozens of mothers who took their children to the Duport Road Health Center on Monday were recipients of assorted clothing items donated by a local charity home.

God’s Favor Orphanage based in Johnsonville, Montserrado County, took the mothers who had gone to the Clinic for their kids’ health problems by surprise.

Over two hundred kids from infancy to four years old drawn from Monrovia and its environs benefited from the gesture of by God’s Favor Orphanage – Liberia, a non-governmental organization.

The NGO’s Focal Person, Julius Bantoe, said the items were provided by Mother Rita Ncoy and Pamela Abrehart, two United Kingdom-based humanitarians who have seen the need to bless the Children of Liberia.

The two humanitarians, according to Bantoe, were contacted by God’s Favor Orphanage – Liberia Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Winifred Yates – Gaye, also based in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Bantoe said: “These clothing items given to the mothers are donated by the two United Kingdom humanitarians who thought to reach out to children of Liberia following a passionate appeal on behalf of the less fortunate children in the country”.

Besides the Liberian Government Duport Road Health Center, the entity carried out similar distributions for other health facilities and orphan homes in Monrovia and its environs, he said.

Some of the beneficiaries include Bishop Lena Thomas Children Village, White Plains, Upper Montserrado County, Dry Rice Market, Kardoma Community, Gardnerville, ELWA Community, Paynesville and Mark Kollie Community, Johnsonville, Montserrado County.

Mr. Bantoe urged the recipients to use the items wisely and for the intended purpose.

Also making remarks, Assistant Director for Monitoring and Evaluation at the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Madam Grace Kortu thanked Mrs. Yates – Gaye and allies for working together in the interest of the children of Liberia.

Madam Kortu termed the partnership between the Ministry of Gender and God’s Favor Orphanage – Liberia as good.

“Other organizations will get at the Gender Ministry and explain a lot about their operations and what they will do for the county and its people, especially the children of Liberia. At the end of the day, nothing is done,” Madam Kortu emphasized.

She pledged the Ministry’s continuous support in working with God’s Favor Orphanage – Liberia to meet the needs of the Liberian children, mainly the less fortunate ones.

Also, the Administrator of the Duport Road Health Center, Madam Linda Fahnbulleh thanked God’s Favor Orphanage – Liberia for selecting the health center to carry out such worthwhile initiative.

“In these difficult times, for an organization and partners to identify with children with clothing is commendable,” she stressed.

She added that the health center is open at all times to God’s Favor Orphanage – Liberia as it embarks on these lives-saving initiatives in the interest of mothers and children in Liberia.
