MONROVIA-It is reported that former Liberia’s Anti-Corruption Commission boss, Cllr. Ndubuisi Nwabudike has again presented a fake document believed to be his late father’s birth certificate, this time before Criminal Court “B” at the Temple of Justice.
Nwabudike who is currently before that honorable court to settle his Liberian citizenship contention told the court that his father was a Liberian, part of the reason he is seeking Liberian citizenship.
He had been asked on several occasions according to our sources, to produce documentation to prove claim that his father was a Liberian, but has struggled to get any document to convince the court.
In his quest to substantiate his late father’s Liberian citizenship as condition upon which the court will proceed to hear his application for Liberian citizenship, Nwabudike presented before the court a certificate that appears to have been produced at ‘world-trade Center’ in central Monrovia with conflicting date of birth of his father.
Our source said the birth certificate presented by Cllr. Nwabudike of his father contains lot of frauds and duplication of his father’s purported Liberian citizenship.
The questionable birth certificate has 1938 as Cllr. Nwabudike’s father date of birth. The certificate which appeared old, had afresh stamp on it, our source asserted.
Nwabudike carried before the court a wrinkled paper with a recent stamp to proof that his father obtained his birth document way before he (Nwabudike) was born.
On April 7, 2022, he filed to the court a seven-count petition seeking for a Liberian citizenship as Nuncprotunc, as such, prayed the judge to grant his request.
Nuncprotunc means: ‘Now for Then’ an action by the court to correct a previous procedural or clerical error.
Recently, the court assigned the case for hearing, but could not because one of the key documents which is his father’s birth certificate was omitted from the case file.
The court ordered Cllr. Nwabudike who was once suspended by the Supreme Court for fraudulent act to go to the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) to get information on his father’s Liberian citizenship, since he (Nwabudike) claimed his father was a born-Liberian. But he failed to do.
As the result of this, our source said, Presiding Judge Schaepolor Dunbar of Court “B” is allegedly taking a back on hearing the matter based on Nwabudike’s action in forging documents.
Two other assigned judges of that honorable court have previously declined to hear the case due to Nwabudike’s continuous alleged fraudulent behavior.
It can be recalled, Cllr. Nwabudike was suspended for six months by the high court denying him from practicing law until he passes through the rightful procedure as a Liberian lawyer.
Accordingly; he appeared to the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) to get the process started.
Cllr. Nwabudike’s alleged fraud came to light when he struggled to prove his nationality before the Liberian senate when he was nominated to serve as chairman of the National Elections Commission.
This position was the third high-profile post by President George Manneh Weah to include: Governance Commission, Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission and the National Elections Commission which his apparent luck of slipping through the cracks came to an end.
During his confirmation hearing, Cllr. Nwabudike; a Nigerian, presented documents that carried multiple dates of birth including his passports.
He lied that the certificate of naturalization presented to the Liberian Senate was issued by Criminal Court “B” during the regime of the People’s Redemption Council (PRC), thereby creating doubt.
Perusing his various passports, his birth dates as October 19, 1960, October 2, 1963, October 2, 1965, and October 2, 1969.
Again, Cllr. Nwabudike’s application for a marriage certificate dated January 22, 1992, written by himself in handwriting carried his name as A. Ndubuisi Nwabudike, his date of birth as October19, 1960 and his nationality as Nigerian.
