-As Liberia Observes 8th Edition Of Golden Image Award

All is set as the nation is at the edge of this year’s special edition of Liberia’s premier award program, the Golden Image Award (GIA), which takes place in fascination and tradition.
The national event which serves as precursor to activities marking the observance of Liberia’s 171st Independence Day celebration will take place at the Monrovia city hall bringing together Liberian and international dignitaries aim at celebrating their achievements.
National and international guests from Ivory Coast, Guinea, Ghana, Nigeria, Europe, USA, Mali and China will grace the event.
The event is again named in honor of former Liberian Head of State and first democratically elected president, Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf in recognition of her invaluable contributions to the country and Africa at large and that of the former Vice President of Liberia, Joseph Boakai for his countless support to conduct the event for the last eight years.
The event will mark the 8th edition of the GIA since its establishment in 2010 and subsequent launched in 2011 to honor people who are impacting their countries and communities and other people in many areas of work.
Speaking with reporters on July, 12, 2018 at the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs, And Tourism (MICAT), GIA Innovator and Founder, Ambassador Juli Endee noted that this year’s event will honor Liberian nationals who had help to impact and make contributions that had long gone unnoticed in the country.
Traditional people from the fifteen-political subdivisions are also expected to be honored on that day and would be treated equally as international guests who will be gracing the event, that according to Ambassador Endee.
She further explained that this year’s GIA will be graced by President George Weah and that ex-Liberian President Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf is the image of this year’s gold image award.
Madam Endee asserted that the Monrovia city hall cannot host everybody for the program; therefore, they have decided to take the event live so as to enable people witness the program from home.
“We are expecting DSTV Sound City from Nigeria to cover the event so after they leave they can show it for others Africans to know Liberia is getting better.
Accordingly, Madam Endee disclosed that former Liberian Vice President Joseph N. Boakai has been named ‘god father’ of this year’s GIA for his moral and financial support to be able to carry out the award for the last eight years.
Endee who is also a member on the steering committee to organize activities leading to the 171st Independence Day celebration bragged that this is going to be one of the best Independence Day ever in the history of Liberia in term of colors and styles.
