EJA Donates To Charity

-Puts Smiles On The Faces Of Orphans

As the festive season draws closer, many people around the world, most especially Christians seize the opportunity to put smiles on the faces of the under privileged and the less fortunate in society by sharing gifts and making some donations.

This was the case with the Elite June Association (EJA) when the group’s members turned out in their numbers over the weekend at a local orphanage, Standing side By Side within the Mount Barclay Community in order to put smiles on the faces of orphans at their home.

The group donated some food and non-food items, including rice, oil, soap, clothes and shoes amongst other things to the orphanage as means of helping them celebrate their Christmas in a grand style, thus, putting the cost of the donation at over four thousand United States dollars (US $ 4000. 00).

Speaking to this paper after the donation exercises, the group’s President, Baccus Roberts said that the donation was under the auspices of the June Care Found, a subsidiary of the Elite June Association which was launched this year June with five key mandates.

Roberts named standing against environmental pollution, standing against sexual harassments, standing against rape, standing against the discrimination of people living with HIV/AIDS and care for the under privileged and the less fortunate in society as the five key mandates of the June Care Foundation.

Roberts stated that the donation is part of the group’s annual plan for the period under review, 2018, following a series of other activities already been executed by the group.

He stated that the donation seeks to create a sense of pride and belongingness of the under privilege and the less fortunate in society and to encourage kids at the orphanage that there exists a better future ahead of them despite their present conditions.

“By sharing with the needy we hope to give them a sense of pride and belonging at the same time encourage the kids of Standing Side by Side home that there is a better future ahead of them if they work hard.  For us, we did not just make the donation, our members also had the opportunity to share their life stories with them and encourage them as a means of motivation for them,” he said.

The EJA President told journalists that the donations were made possible as a result of contributions made by individual members of the group and with the help of its chief sponsor, Delano Bryant, General Manager of the Liberia Renaissance Construction Company.

“Importantly, all of the donations were made possible through our members and chief sponsor Delano Bryant, General Manager of Liberia Renaissance Construction Company and funds generated doing the launch of the foundation in the tone of over four thousand United States dollars (US $ 4000. 00),” Roberts disclosed.

Baccus revealed that this is not his group first time carrying out such initiative, noting that this is something usual for the group, recounting the group’s visit to the home of the blind in Margibi County.

Elite June Association (EJA) is a non for profit group comprising of professional young and talented individuals from diverse background but are born within the month of June which is the bond that holds them together as a family.

The group has earlier existed as June Gladiator from December 10, 2014 up until December 15, 2016 at which time the name was changed to Elite June Association (EJA) and register as a social. TNR
