Montserrado County District #13 Representative Edward Papay Flomo, has vowed to step down from his position if proven guilty of misusing district funds to acquire personal properties since taking office 2019.
Speaking at an appreciation program, Rep. Flomo dismissed allegations of financial mismanagement, describing them as baseless. “If anyone can show evidence that I have used district development funds for my personal gain, I will resign immediately,” he declared.
The lawmaker said his focus since assuming office has been to ease the growing hardships faced by citizens, particularly through educational and social support. “The economic struggle is real, and this is why I have placed emphasis on supporting students and families during these challenging times,” Flomo added.
Constituents at the event raised concerns about the need to increase scholarships provided to young people in the community. In response, Rep. Flomo assured them that education remains a top priority under his leadership.
Commenting on the broader national situation, the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) lawmaker lamented that the hardship in Liberia has reached alarming levels. “It is not just the average citizen who feels the weight of these struggles. Everyone is affected by the current economic reality,” he noted.
Rep. Flomo urged his constituents to remain patient and united, promising continued advocacy for relief and empowerment programs in the district.
