Dillon Wants Prayers For Weah

-As He Goes ‘Paradoxical’ Of Weah

By Esau J. Farr

The Vice Chairperson for Political Affairs of the opposition Liberty Party has repeated himself saying, he does not pray for President George M. Weah to succeed, but prays for him (Weah) to get wisdom that will help him to overcome his challenges in his administration.

“Let me say again for the record, I don’t pray for Weah to succeed, but rather, I pray for him to get wisdom,” Darius Dillon said of President Weah during his closing comments on a local talk show in Monrovia on Thursday, October 11, 2018.

The Liberty Party Vice Chairperson said what President Weah needs the most to run his government is wisdom if he must succeed adding, it is not about praying for him to succeed, but praying for him to have wisdom as King Solomon asked of God something he believes the Liberian leader is short of.

“I am tired with this foolishness about Weah being seen as an angel by others,” he pointed out suggesting that in the absence of wisdom one cannot expect President Weah to succeed and therefore whosoever wants the Liberian leader to succeed must first pray for him to have wisdom which Dillion believes Weah lacks.

According to Mr. Dillon, he will always praise the government of President George Weah whenever she does the right things and whenever she goes wrong she must be questionable and answerable to the public which elected him to power.

“When the government tried to pave the road entering Doe Community, we praised the government for that, when the government put few street lights on the Doe Community Road, we praised the government; so why can’t we talk about missing money when authorities in government are not coordinated or organized and providing misinformation to the public?”, he asked.

The tough talking LP Vice Chair frowned at people who were frowning at opposition politicians who were part of the September 24, 2018 “Bring Back Our Money” peaceful protest saying, they are Liberians in the first place and their support to the quest of people to make their government accountable to them should not be misunderstood by loyalists of President Weah or supporters of the ruling establishment, the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC).

Mr. Dillon reminded partisans of the CDC that they were both Liberians and partisans of the CDC years back when they supported and staged protests during the regime of former President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf.

Famous amongst them were the aborted 2014 April 12 Protest organized by the Campaigners for Change and Liberians united for the transformation of the country, ‘Ellen Step Down’ and the symbolic caskets that were paraded in the main streets of Monrovia in demand of the implementation of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC)’s recommendations and the establishment of a tribunal to try all perpetrators of economic and war crimes in Liberia during the country’s civil wars that is said to have destroyed an estimated 250 thousand lives.

Speaking on other national issues, Mr. Dillon told the local radio station that he was happy about the release from the United States of America Embassy near Monrovia about concluding to reach out for partnership to carry out an independent and credible forensic investigation over the “Missing Billions Saga”.

According to him, “The Legislature is in good place, but they are making me afraid. Where is the 25m that the President George Weah talked about infusing into the economy,”?

Mr. Dillon believed that the money thought to have stabilized the Liberian Dollar against the United States Dollar did not go through the approved financial system as enshrined in the act that created and established the Central Bank of Liberia, CBL.

According to him, he is one of those of the belief that the missing money did not reach the CBL, but rather landed in Duport Road where the home of President George M. Weah is and maintains that until the outcome of the investigative team report proves it otherwise, that is his belief.
