MONROVIA-The Consortium of Civil Society Organizations has expressed sadness at the recent stampede which led to the death of about 29 people during a crusade held at the New Kru Town Sports Pitch.
The Consortium in reaction to the situation on Tuesday however frowned at a statement made by Unity Party Standard Bearer Joseph Boakai with a classification of the Disadvantaged Youths.
John Pangbe, spokesperson of the consortium reading a statement stated that the Unity Party Government which AmB Boakai served should have done something to address the plights of disadvantaged youth instead of criticizing the action of the disadvantaged youths on the New Kru Town situation without a solution.
Pangbe indicated that the current national crisis should have been avoided long ago during the 12 years rule of Madam Sirleaf.
He wants both the previous and current government to squarely take responsibility for the New Kru Town situation.
’’Rather than exploit the death of innocent victims and the pains of a grieving nation for selfish political purpose, Former Vice President, Should hang his head in shame because the national crisis to which he is shameless to refer was also due to his leadership failure’’ John Pangbe
He craved concrete action plans to address this menace faced by disadvantaged youths cause the country cannot afford to return to the dark days.
