Church Gets Involve With Societal Ills

-Teaches Citizens To Cope With Present Day Realities

As a means of helping government in addressing some of those societal ills, the World of Truth Church located in Caldwell in collaboration with Spiritual Life Bible College has embarked on a one-week intensive teaching seminar for one hundred persons from across Monrovia.

The one-week seminar which is being held under the theme: “Copping With Present Day Reality” is expected to come to an end on today, August 17, 2018.

The seminar targeted one thousand participants from different communities and churches within Liberia and several motivational speakers from in country.

Speaking with this paper during the course of the seminar Rev. Cleopatra J.A. Watson explained that the seminar is gear toward helping people in this present day face the reality of the world and the nation.

Rev. Watson further noted that they are embarking on four others topics aside from the key topic which is copying with present day realities.

she named drugs and substance abuse, controlling sexual habits which has to do with STD, STI, stress and stress management, how to management stress in present day reality.

According to her, it is their own way as a church in helping the society because they believe that government alone cannot do everything, but rather, it has to be done through collective effort to have children turned from drugs, sex and alcohol.

“This is our own way of helping our country, society and people because it is not all the time government will have to do everything. Government can do some and us as a church organization can help the society because Jesus commanded the church to meet the spiritual and holistic needs of the people, so we find this way as a church to contribute to meeting the needs of our people.”

The World of Truth Pastor hopes that at the end of the seminar participants would go into their various communities and churches and impact the lesson learned.

She put the cost of the initiative at one thousand five hundred United States dollars noting that it was one of the ways the gospel can be spread not only by preaching.

Rev. Watson further encouraged Liberian pastors to do same or whatever they see best in order to help the country and people cope with present day realities.
