CDC’s‘Demoralized’Crisis

-As 2019 Senatorial Crush Vividly Reflects Fresh & Raw Political Wound; An Uphill Pain-stricken 2020 Tussle Seeps In; Will History Repeat Itself Or Not?

Some staunch diehard supporters of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) told this paper Friday, March 6, 2020 that CDC’s demoralized crisis massively suffered in the 2019 Montserrado County’s Senatorial race has not only landed the party in a political quandary, but has equally exposed it to many administrative woes confronting and vigorously eroding its glorious chances in 2020.

However, with uncompromising support for the CDC embedded in their DNA, they also pointed out that the Saturday’s retreat will not just regain the lost hope and rebrand the party’s politically bruised image, but will re-invent their posture overwhelmed by the ashes of setback and challenges determined to eclipse the certainty of victory for the 2020 senatorial elections with emphasis on the Montserrado County’s tussle.

But pundits see such high hope and positive political turnaround as a critical and whimsical choice whether the mighty CDC amidst the odds being faced with, will kick the can up the hill or kick it down the hill in such a desperate political season that is bound to try the souls of performance, credibility and competence.

According to the pundits, already, the odds and some weak links have been demonstrated by the party, beginning withusurping thestatutory mandate of the National Elections Commission (NEC), Mr.  Bill Twehway in the premises of the National Port Authority (NPA) when he reportedly addressed some employees to go out in their party’s T-Shirts and campaign to re-capture the Montserrado Senatorial seat.

In a published audio and video report by JOY FM Radio Station in Monrovia on Thursday, March 5, 2020 in a phone-in-talk showTwehway equated the unflinching support existed for years by members of the campus-based Student Unification Party (SUP) to the zeal and drive he expects from partisans, that for the years SUP won elections its motive was not who is on the ballot, whether it is a dog or a criminal; the result must be victory for SUP and what matters the most; therefore same must be demonstrated so that CDC will re-capture the Montserrado County’s seat.

At the same time, while this report became controversial upon released, with defenders from the party as shock-absorbers storming the airwave including the Public Relation Director of NPA allegedly blaming the media for misquoting NPA’s Managing Director Twehway, despite the vividness of the video and the clarityof the audio released,  the pundits also pointed out another issue that they observed during the Saturday parade, only President Weah’s photo or image was emblazoned on the T-Shirts and not VP Jewel Howard-Taylor which would have been reflective of the two top personalities of the ruling coalition.
