-As Notorious Armed Robber Reaches 99 Days

Ganta, Nimba County – Police in Ganta, Nimba County have arrested an Ivorian notorious armed robber in Gnata, Nimba County.

Abu Weamie is said to have allegedly been involved with armed robbery activities in several parts of Nimba County with residents of Ganta being mostly affected victims.

Suspect Abu Weamie, 38 years old was arrested at his girlfriend’s house in Ganta-Congo Community after he was declared a wanted man by Police in the city.

Abu Weamie an Ivorian armed robber is reported to have narrowly escaped death recently in Ganta which led to the death of Victor Sabu Yenglee, a former football player who won the 2022/2023 National County Meet for Nimba County and was recently reported to have been mobbed to death by an angry crowd in Ganta after they have gone to armed robber Harney Kerkulah a resident of Ganta.

The presence of suspect Abu Weamie 38 in Ganta, Nimba County has allegedly increased armed robbery activities in Ganta.

The arrest of suspect Abu Weamie brings to eight armed the number of armed robbery activities that have been reported in Ganta recently.

Residents of Ganta including travelers have been affected by the increase in armed robbery activities in the commercial city.

Following their arrest, the government assigned PSU officers in the city to protect residents to bring relief to residents of the area.

Residents accused the notorious  Ivorian armed robber Abu Weamie of leaving his country and entering Liberia to carry out his armed robbery activities.

Our Nimba County correspondent who visited the Liberia – Ivorian border said villagers were celebrating the arrest of Ivorian notorious armed robber Abu Weamie whom they said had been the victim of his usual habit.

A few weeks ago, travelers from the South -Eastern parts of Liberia were reportedly armed and robbed and their belongings including huge cash were taken away from them.

Residents of Ganta including travelers and business people have extended gratitude to the government for the assignment of arms officers in the city.

They said Ganta which forms a border with Guinea has been out of arms officers, but the presence of those arms officers will make them live in peace like before.
