Breaking news: Court Grants EX-Finance Minister bail

MONROVIA-The Judge of Criminal court C, at the Temple of Justice,  His honor, Roosevelt Willie has accepted  a US$8M bond filed by the lawyers of former Finance Minister, Samuel Tweah.

This means, he is a free man until  he returns to the court on  November 12, 2024 for hearing of the case.

On Wednesday, September 25, 2024, Mr. Tweah voluntarily walked to the court along with his lawyers and he was served his indictment.

Tweah and five  other former officials of  ex-president Weah’s Government at Criminal Court “A” on allegation of committing the crimes of Economic Sabotage (Fraud on the Internal Revenue of Liberia; Misuse of Public money, property, or record; Theft and/or illegal disbursement and expenditure of public money), Theft of Property, Money Laundering, Criminal Facilitation, and Criminal Conspiracy.

But Tweah has denied all the charges and described the legal work as  “politically motivated and a witch hunt.
