MONROVIA-Citizens of Bong County based in the United States have identified with recent flood victims back in Bong County.
The group under the banner ‘United Bong County Association in the Americas’ made a donation of several food items to affected flood victims in Central Liberia.
The donation is the fulfillment of a promise made to the citizens when they recently experienced flooding.
It can be recalled two weeks ago flood hit some parts of Gbarnga, Bong County leaving scores of residents homeless- a situation that drew the attention of the association, especially the leadership headed by Mr. Toto.
Following the incident, the group dispatched a team to assess the level of damage caused as a result of the situation and subsequently promised to make an intervention something that was fulfilled recently.
Under the instruction of the President of the group, George Toto and team, the UBCAA Team in Liberia led by Samuel James Kpartor and Alieu Sackor made the presentations of over 30 bags of rice and oil to residents of the affected Communities.
According to Kpartor, the Team’s intervention in Gbarnga was a demonstration of the UBCAA’s efforts to improve the lives of its people and support them in times of need.
He assured the people of Bong that he will continue to help support them in any way possible, especially in times of emergency and many others.
Speaking further during the presentation, James disclosed plans that are underway by the UBCAA leadership to ensure that the impact of the Group is felt by all citizens of the County.
Ahead of the July 2022 national convention expected to take place in Atlanta Georgia, the UBCAA stated that the leadership is currently working on modalities to launch its Bong Development Agenda dubbed; “The BDA which will serve as a blueprint for development support and intervention arm in Bong County.”
