Bong Administrative Building Burglarized Again

Gbarnga, Bong County – Unknown criminals have allegedly burglarized the Administrative Building in Gbarnga, Bong County, and made away with several valuables.

Speaking via a telephone interview on LBS Super Morning Show, the director of Communications at the National Archives, Kaipee Newray said the criminal may away with other valuables that are being preserved at the branch of the National Archives in Bong County.

He said, “People took their valuables at the national Archives for safe keeping, but with the wave of how criminals are visiting burglarizing the Bong Administrative Building it sends bad signals to those who are keeping their valuables with us.”

According to Newray, legal documents were including land deals, marriage certificates and other valuables that were kept in the safe of the archives have all gone with no idea of how they are to retrieve the valuables of those who entrusted them.

He intoned that the action of the criminals does not only bring shame and disgrace to the National Archive, but said it is a National embarrassment to the nation and its people.

Our Bong County Correspondent said criminal activities at the Gbarnga Administrative Building have been regular and have become an issue in the County.

Speaking in an interview with our correspondent recently in the County, the Information Officer for Bong County, Leon Harris described the situation as alarming, noting that is impeding the smooth running of Government activities in the County.

Harris said some offices have been closed due to the lack of office equipment to operate those offices.

The Bong County information officer said the County administration building which is the official seat of the County’s superintendent and other local government agencies have been suffering from criminal activity in the County due to lack of security.

Over the last few months, the waves of criminal activities have increased in Gbarnga thus leaving several residents to live in constant fear.

Meanwhile, several residents have expressed serious concern over the constant wave of armed robbery and criminal activity in the County.

The Gbarnga residents whom many are business people want authorities of the County to put into place strict security measures to secure the administration building and other government facilities in the County.

Additionally, the citizens want the Liberian government through the Police to launch vigorous security operations aimed at dislodging the criminals from their hideous in the City.

A night time investigation conducted by our correspondent revealed that citizens and residents in Gbarnga and its environs are now going to bed as early as 8:00 PM due to the fear of the criminals’ activities that has engulfed the entire City.

In many instances, some residents sustain injuries while attempting to resist the criminals’ demands.

Meanwhile, police in the County have launched a massive manhunt for the perpetrators of the Gbarnga administration building burglary.
