Be Courageous

-Rev. Gartor Tells UMC Men, As They Induct New Leadership

The District Superintendent of the Kakata Farmington/River District and Dean of the Bishop’s Cabinet of the United Methodist Church has called on men of the Liberia Annual Conference to be courageous, strong and humbled if they must lead the church and home.

Rev. Paul K. Gartor made the assertion on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at the Eddie Memorial United Methodist in the township of Virginia, Montserrado County when he served as Guest Preacher during the installation of the Conference United Methodist Men Organization new leadership steering the affairs of the United Methodist men for the next four years.

At the same time, the Lay-Leader of the United Methodist Church, Tolbert Nyenswah who served as the installation Officer challenged men of the church to hold together in building the kingdom of God here on earth and urged on them to see themselves as servant leaders.

Meanwhile, the newly inducted President of the Conference United Methodist Men Organization Abraham B. Newland said as president for the next four years, he will serve with commitment, honesty, hard-work and in a team spirit to strengthen the capacity of the districts in the Liberia Annual Conference.  He further pointed out that his leadership will engage in agricultural project which he believes will sustain the United Methodist Men Organization.

In a release issued in Monrovia on Sunday, March 31, 2019, Abraham B. Newland, Samuel Swen Kun, Jr., Sheku Sam and Julius J. Matadi, were installed as President, 1^st Vice President for Region-One, General Secretary and Assistant General Secretary respectively.

Other officials inducted during the program included Nathaniel Zein, Daddy Nyenswah, J. Amos Gbakelay, Bill G. D. Innis, I., Oscar Todd and Gregory D. S. Goaneh as 2^nd Vice President for Region-Two, 3^rd Vice President for Region-Three, Financial Secretary, Treasurer, Statistician and Chaplain as well as several others inducted to Standing Committees as Chairpersons.
