MONROVIA-Presidential Hopeful in the upcoming General and Presidential Elections, Cllr. Taiwan Saye Gongloe wants President George M. Weah to request for an extended auditing frame to conduct an audit of his Government for the five years of his administration before contesting in the 2023 general presidential elections.
Cllr. Gongloe said such a decision if taken by President Weah will demonstrate transparency and accountability in his government.
Speaking Tuesday, February 22, 2022 to a cross-section of Liberians in Central Monrovia, Cllr. Gongloe Said it will be a prudent decision for the President to ensure that his government is audited as a means for the citizenry and the international community to gain trust and confidence in the government if the audit result is clean that is free of corruption.
According to him, during his administration as president of the Liberia National Bar Association(LNBA) before the Association’s Leadership Elections of which, he was not re-contesting, requested the executives to grant him the authority to request an extended auditing institution to conduct an audit of his leadership.
The former LNBA President said the MOMO and Momo Auditing Company did audit his leadership, and published the outcome without him nor his co-officials being implicated into corruption.
According to him, such action by him and his leadership gave the electorates the confidence during the elections of the LNBA to elect his vice president at the time and the Treasure to run the Association.
He further disclosed that one of the reasons for which he is vying for the presidency is to give hope to the people of Liberia who are seeking for alternative, for a better Liberia.
The Presidential Hopeful said all of his advocacy is to make Liberia a better place for all, a decision that he is committed in upholding up to his election and to the ending of his tenure.
Cllr. Gongloe said with the level of transparency and Accountability his leadership demonstrated within the LNBA will be the same at the presidency of the country.
He said those who will be in government under his leadership will account for every money that will be entrusted for them to manage for the overall good of the country, and not for those with in power to enrich themselves with the people’s money.
