An update from the Liberia National Police (LNP) shows increasing numbers of armed robbery activities in and around Liberia in recent months.

Providing information about what is responsible for the increase in armed robbery activities in the country, LNP through its spokesman Moses Carter said there are too many factors responsible for this act.
Carter named Divulgence behaves, people taking laws into their own hands or not taking advantage of the law among other things as some factors relating or responsible for the high rate of armed robbery in the country.
According to him, their Intelligence is in tight and it speaks to the fact that the police have been able to make a huge achievement by arresting some notorious armed robbers.
Carter further maintained “our intelligence is very strong and our officers are working very hard ensuring citizens go to bed in peace.”
Accordingly; he revealed that two persons (Jeff Romane and Abraham Konneh alias “VIP”) had been arrested by the police for crime of auto theft.
Abraham Konneh alias (VIP) is believed to be resident of Jacob Town and a notorious sponsor of all auto thieves.
During investigation with the criminals, four vehicles were retrieved by the LNP Police including one Yellow Nissan Almera Sedan, one Yellow Toyota Sedan, one White Toyota Corolla Station Wagon and one Maroon Saturn Sedan.
On May 14, 2018, the same being the day Konneh was arrested an ambulance belonging to the Grand Cape Mount Hospital; Porkpa district was retrieved from Yeala Motel in Paynesville, police investigation shows.
Meanwhile, the LNP has arrested 18 individuals who allegedly burnt a truck that was involved into a road traffic accident in Bentol on May 14, 2018, that led to the death of a man identified as Washington, 22years. Those individuals are undergoing screening while the deceased is presently at the Arthur Burgler funeral home in Paynesville
